Influence of electrophysical
properties of sulphide minerals on their sorption and flotation properties
It has been found with application of various research methods that the
electrons to holes ratio and the Fermi level position in sulphide minerals
determine the ratio of chemically fixed to physically sorbed collector
species on their surface, flotability of minerals and their maximal recovery
value in flotation. Maximal flotability and recovery of minerals or, on the
contrary, their complete depression are reached at definite values of
electrophysical parameters ensuring the optimal ratio of chemically fixed to
physically sorbed collector species on the surface of minerals to be floated
or the absence of physically sorbed collector species on the surface of
minerals in the case of their depression in flotation. Regulation of
electrophysical parameters of minerals and/or the composition of the
adsorption layer of collector on their surface is the essence of the
activation process of zinc sulphides by copper salts and existing methods
for improvement and intensification of minerals flotation and selectivity of
their separation. |
